Campaign Story

Hello everyone! My name is Cindy and I am married to my amazing husband, Santiago. We met on Bumble in 2020, during the pandemic. It was definitely a strange time to meet people, but we were both determined to find love in the chaos that was happening in the world. We quickly fell in love and got engaged that same year! After 4 months of dating, I said “yes”. Crazy, I know! The next year, we got married and moved into our tiny apartment in a new city. I moved an hour away to start my life with Santiago. Shortly after moving in together in 2021, we decided we were going to start trying for babies. The both of us have waited so long to meet a partner we could see as the potential parent of our kids, and we feel that we finally found that in each other. When we started trying, we didn’t put much effort into planning because people get pregnant on “accident” all the time. We didn’t anticipate on having any issues. After a few months of trying on our own and having no luck, we realized that something was not normal. After a year of trying on our own, we sought help. Our doctors ran tests and they all came back normal for the both of us. We were diagnosed with unexplained infertility. Two years later, multiple tests and doctor visits later, we have decided that IUI would be our next step. Unfortunately, our medical plans do not cover fertility treatments so we are paying for everything out of our own pockets-like most hopeful couples going through fertility treatments.
